Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

I talked about EFT or tapping in the last chapter, so I’ll just mention it briefly here. EFT is the Emotional Freedom Technique and it’s a way of tapping away the belief. For example, I can take one of the beliefs that people have shared with me, like, “All my wishes should not be granted.” So you would take that belief and say, “Even though I believe all my wishes cannot be granted, I deeply love, accept, and forgive myself,” using the tapping process I discussed in step two. This is the key phrase that I would say as I tap on the karate chop point at the bottom palm of my hand. You would insert whatever the key phrase is for you. Then tap through the other points.

Other key phrases might be: “Being beautiful is dangerous.” “I have to work long, hard hours to earn a living.” “I’m not attractive because I’m fat.” “I believe it’s impossible to become wealthy.” “I do not believe in the abundance of the universe.” These are all beliefs that others have shared with me that could be tapped away. Pick the one that fits you and use it as a phrase.
